Ranthambore National Park

Ranthambore is a fabulous place for environmentalists and is also known for the famous Ranthambore national park. One can visit this park by moving to the south east part of Rajasthan some 130 km from the city of Jaipur. Formerly the hunting ground for the kings of Jaipur, Ranthambore is a rich tiger reserve. The greenery of the belt post monsoon is fantastic and there are some exotic species of flora and fauna in the region. Ranthambore is a place one must at least once in life if there is a passion for the environment, wildlife and ecology.

The tiger safari in Ranthambore can be an exotic adventure and one can find the famous Ranthambore fort here. This region was established as an ecological reserve in the year 1955 as the Swai Madaopur game sanctuary. It became project tiger between the years 1972-73 and subsequently a national park in the year 1980.
