Haridwar is a wonderful place and is also called the gateway to God. Hardwar means Hari ka dwar or the entrance to the gate of God. This is one of the most important places of Hinduism as far as the sanctity is concerned. Hardwar is in Uttaranchal and is one of the important gateways to the famous Char dham yatra. The char dham yatra comprises of the four important places like Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. The famous river Ganges flows in Haridwar.

This river is sacred in Hinduism and it is said that a dip in the river cleans the sins of the individual. One can also visit the famous Laxman jula from this place.
