Day 01: Arrival Goa

Day 03: Goa

Churches: Basilica of Bom Jesus: A World Heritage Site, Preserved body of St. Francis Xavier constructed around 1695. The Basilica of Bom Jesus is famous for the preserved mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier. He was the member of Society of Jesus and came to India to spread Christianity with the Portuguese. Se Cathedral: Largest church in Asia, giant bells and exquisite architecture. Se Cathedral of Goa is dedicated to St. Catherine of Alexandria. This magnificent edifice was built in the 16th century under the Portuguese rule in India. The construction of the church began in 1562 and finished in 1619. It was sanctified in 1640. After the construction, the Se Cathedral of Goa was declared to be the largest church in Asia. Church of St. Francis of Assisi: A stunning and charming building, architecture has a combination of Hindu and Christian elements. The Church of St. Francis of Assisi of Goa was built during 1517-1521 AD. St. Francis of Assissi Church of India has now been turned into a museum. Church of St Augustine Ruins: 46 meter high tower, the church was built in 1602 with the combined efforts of 12 Augustinians. They also built a convent besides the church. However, the Portuguese government in India put a ban on them and they abandoned the church and the convent. The Saint Augustine church was considered to be one of the greatest of three Augustinian churches. Now, only the ruins of the front portion of the church and magnificent tower remain. Church of Marry Immaculate Conception: one of the most famous landmarks of Goa. This church is supposed to be one of the earliest churches to be constructed in Goa. The church looks magnificent and stunningly beautiful. The decoration inside the church is relatively simple, still exudes charm and beauty. The church that is present here today was supposed to have been rebuilt in 1619 from an earlier church. Overnight at hotel.

Day 04: Goa
Breakfast at hotel, full day sightseeing tour of South Goa covers: Temples, Old Portuguese Manor, Big Foot (Ancestral Goa).
Sri Bhagawati Temple: The temple is supposed to be over 500 years old and is dedicated to Goddess Ashtabhuja or Eight Handed Goddess. The temple is constructed in a grand style and the entrance is flanked by two statues of elephants. Shri Shantadurga Temple: dedicated to the Goddess known as Shantadurga who is known to be a peaceful form of Goddess Durga. According to legends, she settled a major dispute between Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu amicably. The temple is constructed beautifully and is located amidst scenic landscapes. Shri Mangesh Temple: This beautiful temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The lovely temple attracts lots of devotees and the architecture of the temple follows every norm of the traditional Hindu architectural style.

Big Foot (Loutolim): The Big Foot Art Gallery & Local Handicarfts Centre, where works of local artist such as paintings, artefacts, bamboo, cane, clay & terracotta, handmade garments & souvenirs.

Sprawling over a nine acre hillock at Loutulim in South Goa, the Ancestral Goa project is an effort to recreate the rural life of Goa as it had existed in the days of yore. Essentially a miniature Goan village, Ancestral Goa is the culmination of the dream and singular efforts of Goan artist, Maendra J. Alvares, who wanted to create a project that, would preserve the heritage of the land and contribute to Goan tourism. A kaleidoscope of Goan rural life, Ancestral Goa depicts the day to day activities of a typical Goan village and also hosts a number of art galleries and artifact centers. This unique project achieved fruition in April 1995 after months of meticulous research, planning and hard work by artist Alvares and his team.

The chief attraction of this open air museum is the "Legend of the Big Foot". "The Legend of Big Foot" revolves around a footprint that was discovered on a rock and the footprint is believed to bring good luck for those who stood upon it. The laterite sculpture of Saint Mirabai in Ancestral Goa has been cited in the Limca Book of Records as the Longest Laterite Sculpture in India. Overnight at hotel.
