Christmas is celebrated in India with great pomp and show and it happens on the 25th of December every year. The Christmas tree shines during the event of Christmas and there are prayers in the churches of India during the festival. Christmas is celebrated as a festival in the memory of birth of Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem, Israel and is revered by the Christians as the son of God. Christmas is widely celebrated by the Christians of India with great pomp and show.

With a population of 7 to 8 percent Christians in the country, this is the day of intense fun and celebration. There are cake and cocktail parties held in the resorts and hotels of India during the festival. The churches are well decorated lightening and the priests hold a special Christmas mass. Not only Christians participate in the event but the people of other faiths too go to the churches to get the blessing of Lord.
