The fair and festivals of the country are an important part of the Indian civilization and culture and there is a huge participation by the foreign and Indian tourists during the events. The annual Urs of Khwaja Moin Ud Din Chisti of Ajmer is an important festival of the year. Thousands go to Ajmer to participate in it. The fair of Pushkar also called the Pushkar mela is widely celebrated in the country with huge incoming tourists from different countries.

In fact, this is among the largest cattle fairs of the country in which around fifty thousand camels and other cattle are traded. The festival of Oman is one of the most important cultural events of the country and is celebrated in the region of Kerala with great pomp and show. Diwali, Holi, Eid, Buddha purnima, Baisakhi, Christmas etc are among the important festivals of the country. The famous fair of Puri Jagarnath is important event and is attended by lacs of devotees from India and other parts of the world.
